Tyler Bertuzzi, Red Wings, sound off on suspension. Filmed Dec. 4, 2018 in Detroit. Helene St. James, Detroit Free Press
In the same breath, Tyler Bertuzzi said he needs to sit still – but that he doesn’t know if he can do that.
Bertuzzi plays with an edge, it’s part of why the Detroit Red Wings like him. But there’s playing with an edge and then there’s punching someone who can’t defend himself, even if that punch was retaliatory.
Bertuzzi acknowledged he would have been better off sitting on his hands right after Avalanche forward Matt Calvert crashed into the bench area as he faced the first leg of a two-game suspension on Tuesday.
