CALGARY, Alberta — Special teams have extinguished the Detroit Red Wings, rendering that hot start a cooling memory.
They surrendered three shorthanded goals while squandering their own man advantages Thursday at the Saddledome, slinking off with a 5-1 loss that looked uglier because it followed a 5-1 loss at Vancouver and a 5-2 home loss to Toronto.
