ST. LOUIS — The Detroit Red Wings were unable to finish.
They lost 2-1 to the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday at Scottrade Center even as they outshot them, 36-26.
The Blues entered the night on a seven-game losing streak and fresh off a tongue-lashing by their coach after an 8-3 loss the previous night at Minnesota. The Wings outplayed them early but Scottie Upshall scored on a rebound, sending the Wings into the third period down by a goal.
