The NHL offseason hasn't began for some NHL teams, but for the Detroit Red Wings, it has been well underway. A sign of that is their most recent transaction.
On Saturday, the Red Wings signed Taro Hirose to a two-year contract extension. The financial details have not been disclosed. The forward has been with the organization since signing with the club in 2019.
In that time, Hirose has bounced between the Red Wings and Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Since going pro, Hirose has scored four goals, and totaling 20 points in 57 games with the Red Wings.
