SAN JOSE, Calif. — Those 60-minute shirts the Detroit Red Wings pack deserve wearing.

The Wings head back on the road after a brief respite at home savoring a coast-to-coast trek that ended with impressive performances against two teams expected to compete for the Stanley Cup. Fortunately for the organization’s draft lottery odds, New Jersey and Los Angeles have won enough that the Wings haven’t risen above 29th place in the standings.
