WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Detroit Red Wings pushed back, but couldn’t overcome playing from behind practically all game.
The Wings generated chances and largely played well Friday at MTS Place, but fell 4-2 to the Winnipeg Jets. With one victory in their past 10 games, the Wings have sunk to third from the bottom in the NHL standings, which at least benefits their 2019 draft lottery odds.
The Jets scored on the opening and closing shifts of the first period, and were up three goals by the time Luke Glendening scored shorthanded.
