The Detroit Red Wings are making their roster changes ahead of their playoff series with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Anthony Mantha has been reassigned in favour of Joakim Andersson. Mantha is only 21 but gave reasonable performances when brought up from Grand Rapids in March. It wasn’t until Mantha’s fourth game with the Big Team that he notched his first NHL point by assisting on Darren Helm’s goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After ten games with Detroit, questions are being asked about Mantha’s defensive ability. He finished the season on a +/- of minus six.
