Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman chose Swedish forward Lucas Raymond with the No. 4 overall pick in Tuesday's NHL draft.
The 18-year-old left wing, who shoots right, played most of 2019-20 in the SHL, registering 10 points in 33 games with Frolunda. Raymond (5-11, 170) is high hockey-IQ guy, plays with physicality, and is responsible in his own end. He's a high-end skater, and a hard worker who is willing to go to the hard areas. He's got a knack for stealing pucks, making him a threat in the defensive zone.
The New York Rangers selected Alexis Lafreniere with the first overall pick.
