The Detroit Red Wings designated Day 5 of training camp Tuesday to feature a scrimmage between Team Red and Team White.
It’s a big deal, because it marks the first time anything resembling a hockey game has been played at Little Caesars Arena since March 10, when the Wings lost to the Carolina Hurricanes. That was two days before the NHL paused the 2019-20 season.
Ten months later, and as newcomer Vladislav Namestnikov put it, “we’ve been off for so long, and finally to get something close to a game is going to be good for us.
