The Detroit Red Wings have reportedly traded yet another player, and for the second time in a few hours, Steve Yzerman and Ken Holland have completed a deal.
TSN and CBC hockey commentator Gord Miller was first to report that the Wings will send forward Andreas Athanasiou to the Edmonton Oilers. TSN reporter Darren Drager reports that Wings will receive a pair of second-round pick in exchange.
Athanasiou, 25, has 10 goals and 14 assists in 46 games this season. He is a league-worst minus-45 in plus/minus rating. Last season was his best offensively, scoring 30 goals and recording 54 points in 76 games.
