The Detroit Red Wings put the finishing touches on their 2022-23 roster by re-signing forward Filip Zadina, a restricted free agent, to a three-year deal worth $5.475 million.
Zadina, 22, was one of the early pillars of the Wings' rebuild when he was drafted sixth overall in 2018. Many thought that night that Zadina would be drafted as high as No. 3 overall; he said he would “fill the net with pucks” of the teams who passed on him.
Since then, the 6-foot, 197-pounder has not provided that once-anticipated scoring punch, scoring 25 goals and 61 points in 160 career games.
