Detroit Red Wings players Filip Zadina and Thomas Vanek and coach Jeff Blashill talk after 4-2 preseason win at Little Caesars Arena, Sept. 20, 2018.
The Detroit Red Wings wrapped up preseason with another victory.
Neither they nor the Toronto Maple Leafs fielded much of an NHL lineup, but the Wings used special teams to establish an early lead en route to a 5-1 final Saturday at Little Caesars Arena.
The Wings finished the preseason 7-1 with 32 goals. They used the generous amount of games to get lots of looks at their prospects, and Saturday offered a chance to audition penalty killers, as the Wings were short-handed five times through the first two periods.
