The Detroit Red Wings have an opening on defense, and Dennis Cholowski believes he’s the prospect who can fill it.
A high-end blend of smooth skating and hockey IQ, Cholowski is buoyed by the confidence he gained during the past year. He’s impressed with his assertiveness, physical growth and maturity, and the Wings have Cholowski high on their list of top defense prospects.
“His strengths are his skating and his puck-moving ability,” director of player development Shawn Horcoff said during this week’s development camp at Little Caesars Arena.
