After the demise of their farm club's playoff run, the Detroit Red Wings have made another move official.
The team announced today that Jeff Salajko has been promoted to goaltending coach in Detroit. Salajko had been the goaltending coach with the Grand Rapids Griffins, who were ousted from the second round of the AHL playoffs Monday.
Salajko, 41, replaces Jimmy Bedard, who had held the position in Detroit for nearly two decades.
The change comes a week after the Wings announced the hiring of Doug Houda as the new assistant coach in charge of the defense and penalty killing.
