A chunk of today's practice was devoted to special teams, as the Detroit Red Wings seek to boost their penalty kill.
The Wings take a four-game winning streak up against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday (7:30 p.m., FSD), after holding the San Jose Sharks at bay during four power plays Saturday. But overall, the penalty kill is at just 73.9% after six games.
“It’s early in the season, and we’ve got a new PK coach,” forward Drew Miller said. “We just want to get terminology, get on the same page.
