TheDetroit Red Wings roll into the second half of their season convinced more celebrations are in their future.
They closed 2019 with a 2-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks, feeding off the festive New Year’s Eve atmosphere at Little Caesars Arena. The fact it was only the 10th time the Wings celebrated a victory speaks to how dreadful their first half was: They’re last in the NHL at 10-28-3.
“Obviously it was frustrating,” Tyler Bertuzzi said after scoring his 15th goal of the season. “It’s not really what you draw up coming into the season, but I guess all you can really do is learn from it and move on.
