As the Detroit Red Wings prepare for the 2018-19 season, the preseason is being used to audition several prospects deemed capable of pushing for NHL jobs. One leading candidate got the exhibition started on a winning note, as 2017 first-round pick Michael Rasmussen scored in overtime of Wednesday’s game.
“I thought Ras got much better as the game went along,” coach Jeff Blashill said after the 3-2 victory over the Penguins.
