The injuries continue to mount for the Detroit Red Wings.
They will be without defenseman Brendan Smith for “approximately four weeks,” general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press today. Smith, who hurt his right knee Saturday, does not need surgery.
Both Smith and forward Tyler Bertuzzi, who hurt his left foot in the game, have been placed on injured reserve. The team was still awaiting a report on Bertuzzi this morning.
As the Free Press reported Sunday, Tomas Jurco has been activated and will be available to play Tuesday, when the Wings host the Dallas Stars.
