With seven of their next eight games on the road, the Detroit Red Wings wanted to bank a couple points Sunday night against the struggling Vancouver Canucks, who entered the game 3-3-1. But the Wings gave a lackluster effort over the final two periods of what was their worst performance of the season.
Sven Baertshi scored a pair of goals and Derek Dorsett added his team-leading fifth goal of the season for the Canucks. The Wings gave up three unanswered goals and were outshot 18-6 in the second period and 37-21 for the game in a 4-1 loss at Little Caesars Arena.
