The Red Wings are frustrated at their inability to score. Filmed Dec. 22, 2018 in Detroit. Helene St. James, Detroit Free Press
Thomas Vanek is frustrated, so much so it is affecting his sleep.
He has built his NHL career on being a prolific and consistent scorer, but this season his plight mirrors that of the Red Wings: they are not scoring enough to be consistent winners.
They head into their last game before the Christmas break, Sunday at Toronto, lamenting their 2-1 loss to the Panthers. The Wings are having trouble masking just how many key players are injured, and have just three victories in their last 11 games.
