The Detroit Red Wings have lost another fixture in their lineup for an extended period.
Forward Justin Abdelkader will be out a minimum of three weeks with what coach Jeff Blashill described as a "mid-body injury" on Monday. Abdelkader was injured during the Wings' 3-2 victory over Vegas on Sunday.
The Wings are already playing without top defenseman Danny DeKeyser (lower body), Luke Glendening (hand) and Trevor Daley (lower body).
Abdelkader has yet to score a goal this season. He also missed three games earlier this season with a lower-body issue. He has three assists in 16 games.
