TAMPA, Fla. — Jonathan Bernier put on a performance that both his own team and the opponent lauded, and it still wasn’t enough to earn a victory.
It’s been a tough first season with the Detroit Red Wings for Bernier, exemplified by Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lighting at Amalie Arena. Bernier made a handful of highlight reel worthy saves in the third period, but came away with his 16th loss in 30 games.
