TORONTO — The Detroit Red Wings were angry and worried after seeing one of their teammates taken down by a slew foot.

Anthony Mantha left Saturday’s game at Scotiabank Arena with 1:55 to play in the 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Mantha was thrown to the ice by Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin and hit the ice head first. Mantha didn’t move for a couple of minutes, and looked groggy as he was helped off the ice.

“I wasn’t sure at first what the ailment was,” coach Jeff Blashill said.
