Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has made another minor trade.
He acquired defenseman Kyle Wood from the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday afternoon in exchange for defenseman Oliwer Kaski.
Wood, 23, was drafted at 84th overall in 2014 by the Colorado Avalanche. He has spent the last three-plus seasons playing in the AHL for the Springfield Falcons, Tucson Road Runners, San Jose Barracuda and Charlotte Checkers.
The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder has 26 goals and 76 points In 199 career AHL games. He has yet to appear in the NHL.
