Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman exposed to COVID-19, tests negative

Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman opted to participate remotely in the 2020 NHL draft after exposure to a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Yzerman had received multiple negative test results, and the team announced Tuesday afternoon, a few hours before the first round of the draft, that he is not experiencing any symptoms.

Yzerman had planned to be at a conference room at Little Caesars headquarters along with select team personnel, including chief of amateur scouting Kris Draper, chief amateur scout Jesse Wallin, and assistant general managers Ryan Martin and Pat Verbeek.
