Red Wings overcome mistakes to win in overtime.
Here’s What Happened:
Coming into the game versus the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night the Detroit Red Wings had accumulated points in their previous five games. Detroit had also gave up a third period lead in three of those previous five games and the Red Wings almost nearly fell into this “trap game” but were able to right some of their wrongs and defeat the Oilers.
Detroit had plenty of chances in the first period but were unable to put the puck behind Cam Talbot. Gustav Nyquist opened up the scoring early in the second period and Tomas Tatar followed suit a few minutes later.
