Detroit Red Wings' game at Anaheim Ducks postponed hours before start, moved to Sunday

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Detroit Red Wings had already departed Honda Center after their morning skate when they found out they would not be playing Thursday.

Their game against the Anaheim Ducks was moved to Sunday because of COVID-19 related issues affecting the Ducks. The Wings are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday, so the schedule change will set up a back-to-back situation.

It's the sixth game the Wings have had postponed because of the pandemic; all but one have been road games.

Moving it to Sunday at least means the Wings don't have to make a separate trip to California later in the season.
