The final week of the NHL season is here, and the Detroit Red Wings head into it on a winning note.
They’re on their second-longest winning streak of the season, and the fact it’s only three games is telling of how much the Wings have struggled. They are paying the price for a 25-season playoff streak that resulted in no high draft picks — when they drafted Michael Rasmussen at ninth overall in 2017, it was the team’s highest pick since Martin Lapointe at 10th overall in 1991.
