The Detroit Red Wings squandered one man advantage after another, their lack of puck luck leading to another loss.
Their inability to make more happen with man advantages sent them off the ice Monday at Little Caesars Arena with a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders. The Wings are winless in their last 10 games and dropped to 7-20-3 at the 30-game mark. Since losing leading scorer Anthony Mantha to a lower-body injury five games ago, the Wings have scored three goals.
Dylan Larkin scored for the first time in 10 games Monday.
