NEW YORK — Reckless stick work by Tyler Bertuzzi and a soft night on the penalty kill forced the Detroit Red Wings to play past regulation.
The Wings had a three-goal lead in the third period Friday at Barclays Center when Bertuzzi was assessed a five-minute penalty for slashing. The Islanders scored four times during the stretch to take their first lead of the game, but Mike Green tied the game with 29 seconds left.
