Detroit Red Wings' Dylan Larkin OK after puck to groin area, out for Worlds

Good news first: Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin will be fine.

That was the word out of the World Championship Thursday from coach Jeff Blashill to the Detroit Free Press. Larkin was the with U.S. team in Bratislava, Slovakia, traveling even after sustaining an extremely painful injury Tuesday.

The bad news: Larkin won't be able to play the rest of the World Championship. The U.S., which also features Wings forward Luke Glendening, faces Russia in a Thursday quarterfinal.

"Larkin will be out for tournament," Blashill said via text. "Will be fine but out for tourney.
