Dylan Larkin began the season as a center. It appears he’ll end the season playing there instead of the wing.
“I’ve had him at center here for a little bit,” said Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill. “Since the Boston game. It’s something I’ve thought about for a long time.
“We moved off the center position to the wing early in the year to try to free him up a little bit potentially.”
Blashill said the move was made to take some pressure off him.
Larkin, who grew up in Waterford and starred at Michigan, had a sensational start as a rookie and finished with 23 goals and 45 points in 80 games.
