TRAVERSE CITY -- Drew Miller sauntered up the walkway outside Centre Ice Arena and overheard a Tomas Jurco soundbite too good to let pass.
As Jurco explained that the back surgery he underwent in August stemmed from an “old injury,” Miller yelled out, “That's because he’s old.”
Miller, nearly a decade older than Jurco, is in high spirits entering Friday’s start of Detroit Red Wings training camp, convinced he is fully recovered from the major knee surgery he underwent in January and delighted about all the time he has spent with the daughter, Octavia, he and his wife welcomed May 6.
