A retrospective look at the career of Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg. Detroit Free Press
TRAVERSE CITY — Detroit Red Wings Henrik Zetterberg is calling his career.
A degenerative back issue has forced the team captain to step down for good.
“It is emotional,” Zetterberg said Friday. “It’s been 15 years here and even though I knew that I was on my last couple years, I wish that I could play a little bit longer.”
Zetterberg steps away having played 1,082 games, and having produced 960 points.
