NEW YORK — It's a good thing the Detroit Red Wings have a third goaltender, at the rate they're burning through their net assets.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden for Thomas Greiss as the New York Rangers downed the Wings, 4-0.
The Rangers entered the game with a playoff spot clinched but are still motivated by the chase for home-ice advantage. The Wings (29-36-10) are trying to finish the season showing they're a competitive team, but they had a hard time getting out of their own zone Saturday.
