The Detroit Red Wings were upset with Jack Hughes – and themselves.
Their Tuesday game against the New Jersey Devils at Little Caesars Arena went from ugly to uglier in the third period. Robby Fabbri limped off after a knee-on-knee collision with Hughes, and the last minute nearly degenerated into a melee after Tyler Bertuzzi put a clean hit on Hughes.
“It starts with a pretty cheap check,” Dylan Larkin said after the 4-1 loss.
