Sometimes, a poor player can evade being ‘found-out’ by fooling coaches and fans alike because the ‘eye test’ doesn’t always obviously point to faults in his game (see Niklas Kronwall post-2014, still somehow earning top-pairing minutes and PP time). However, Ericsson is a player who fails both the eye test AND the statistical test. All signs point to him being booted out of a roster spot.
