In news that most, if not all Detroit Red Wings fans will celebrate, left winger Justin Abdelkader has signed a seven-year contract extension. This is excellent news because it secures the services of a solid forward. There is a slight point about the deal that’s sticking just a little bit… the money. The deal is reportedly worth $29.75 million over the seven years. According to twitter and generalfanager.com the first four years include a no-trade clause. The no-trade clause isn’t an issue for me. I like the guy and would be happy to see him sticking around for a bit.
