The most pleasant surprise this season for the Detroit Red Wings was rookie forward Dylan Larkin. When the Detroit Red Wings selected him 15th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, many expected the hometown kid (Michigan born) to develop into a good player. No one expected him to be this good this quick.
Larkin’s season was very solid and he quickly emerged as a top player for the Detroit Red Wings. He finished tied for 3rd on the team with 45 points (23 goals, 22 assists). The promising aspect of his goal scoring was that 19 of his goals came at even strength compared to only four on the power play.
