DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today recalled defenseman Dan Renouf from the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins under emergency conditions.
Renouf, 22, was signed by the Red Wings as a free agent on March 10, 2016 and has spent his first professional season with the Griffins, logging 15 points (3-12-15), a plus-15 rating and 59 penalty minutes in 58 games. The Pickering, Ontario, native leads Grand Rapids in penalty minutes and is tied for third on the team and for seventh among AHL rookies in plus-minus. Renouf also appeared in six games with the Griffins in 2015-16 following the conclusion of his junior year at the University of Maine, picking up one assist and five penalty minutes.
