TORONTO -- That's one more step towards the playoffs.
The Detroit Red Wings won for the second time in two nights, leaving Air Canada Centre tonight with a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. As in their Friday victory against Minnesota, the Wings scored first, converted on a power play, and protected their lead.
With Boston idle, the two points edged the Wings into third place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins, now a point behind Detroit, play Sunday at Chicago. The Wings have three games left to secure a playoff spot, with a home game against Philadelphia and then road games at Boston and the Rangers.
