Either the Texas Stars or Toronto Marlies will succeed the Grand Rapids Griffins as owners of the Calder Cup Trophy.
The finalists for the AHL championship was determined Monday after the Stars defeated Rockford, 2-1, in overtime of Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.
Toronto qualified for the finals on Friday with a 3-1 victory over Lehigh to complete a four-game sweep.
Game 1 of the Calder Cup Finals will be 4 p.m. Saturday. Last year, it was the Griffins who won the cup in six games over the Syracuse Crunch.
