The Detroit Red Wings placed Landon Ferraro on waivers Saturday -- and the Boston Bruins took advantage.
The Bruins claimed the 24-year-old forward off waivers today. Ferraro played in 10 games this season for the Red Wings and has no points, seven penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating.
Ferraro was coming off injured reserve with a lower body injury, but the Red Wings had no room for him on the roster.
"It's a situation where he's done a good job," Blashill told reporters Saturday. "But with our numbers, more forwards… we have to make a decision to try to send somebody potentially through waivers, so we decided on him.
