BOSTON -- On a night that began with an emotional playing of the French national anthem, the Detroit Red Wings didn't show their heart until the third period.
Comeback hockey usually is losing hockey, though, and this night at TD Garden was no different, with the Wings falling 3-1 to the Boston Bruins.
It was already 3-0 when Justin Abdelkader scored six minutes into the third period. It was Abdelkader's first goal since the second game of the season. The Wings -- who did play Friday, losing at home -- looked much more engaged in the third period, but they got going too late.
