NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, pioneering black player Willie O’Ree and Martin Brodeur, the league’s leader in wins among goaltenders, top the latest class for the Hockey Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday.
Former Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood did not make the cut and neither did ex-Wing Daniel Alfredsson.
Osgood, who retired in 2011 with 401 career victories and three Stanley Cups, has been eligible for the hall of fame since 2014.
Alfredsson, who has been on the ballot for two years, scored 444 career goals, including 18 goals in the final year of his career with the Red Wings in 2014.
