We know that veteran forward Steve Ott is a scrapper on the ice.
But maybe you didn't know that he's a passionate powerboat racer.
Ott, who joined the Detroit Red Wings this year after an injury-shortened season with the St. Louis Blues, talked about his other love during the inaugural Hockeytown 5K Run/Walk today.
The Red Wings-inspired event, which started outside Joe Louis Arena just after sunrise and finished inside the rink, drew about 6,000 people.
“The turnout is just phenomenal,” Ott said of the runners who raced along the Detroit Riverwalk. “It’s just incredible, but typical of hockey and sports fans in this town.
