Detroit — The Red Wings continue to stockpile depth for the organization with Saturday’s dizzying amount of draft picks.
Early on Saturday, two more players who dropped in the draft were gladly scooped up by the Red Wings.
Forward Jonatan Berggren (No. 33 overall) and defenseman Jared McIssac (No. 36) — a Halifax teammate of Filip Zadina, the Red Wings’ top pick Friday — fell into Saturday’s portion of the draft, after having been expected to be first-rounders.
Berggren is a 5-foot-11, 183-pound right wing who scouts feel could turn into an effective two-way player — capable of good numbers offensively, while also dogged defensively.
