The possibility of the AHL not playing in 2020-21 due to the coronavirus pandemic has the Detroit Red Wings concerned some of their young players and top prospects will miss valuable development time.
That is why some of them might start playing soon in Europe.
The Red Wings are negotiating terms of a loan agreement that would enable Filip Zadina and Joe Veleno to play in the Czech Republic for HC Ocelari Trinic, a source said. Zadina’s father, Marek, is an assistant coach for the club.
