NHL Network will debut a new commentary format for its "NHL Network Showcase" telecast of Red Wings-Penguins on Saturday. Instead of a traditional broadcast call featuring play-by-play and analysis, E.J. Hradek, Jackie Redmond, Mike Rupp and Kevin Weekes will provide conversational commentary from the network's N.J. studio throughout the game. The effort is similar to the "Clubhouse Edition" broadcasts introduced last year by MLB Network, which shares production space with NHL Network.
viewers in Pittsburgh and Detroit will be subject to local blackout rules
