Twenty years ago, on June 16, 1998, the Detroit Red Wings won their second consecutive Stanley Cup after a 42-year drought.
The victory was especially meaningful as the team's celebration of the first Cup victory was cut short when star Russian defenseman Vladimir Konstantinov (as well as fellow Wings defenseman Slava Fetisov, team masseur Sergei Mnatsakanov and driver Richard Gnida) was seriously injured in a limo crash.
